Barry HartBarry Hart was born in Washington, DC and now resides in Fort Washington, Md. He has played drums professionally since the age of 16. A technical master, he is as much fun to watch as he is to listen to.

Barry has performed with The Tommy Dorsey Big Band, The Ink Spots, Bob Hope, Cab Calloway, Lou Rawls and The Drifters. Barry was the permanent drummer for Danny Gatton’s jazz quintet, Funhouse. Barry appears on the latest CD Untouchable released by the family of Danny Gatton.

Barry has won 4 WAMMIE Awards (The Washington Area Music Association). He won in 1988 and 1989 as part of Danny Gatton’s group Funhouse. In 1997 he was included in the award for the CD “Well Spoken” released by Steve Wolf & Swing Speak, for best new acoustical jazz recording. In 1998 he won a WAMMIE for his performance on Rick Whitehead’s CD, Live In Captivity.
